Adventure South are an outdoor activity provider based in Salcombe, South Devon. After growing frustrated with the limitations of their current website, they approached Upsite to design and build a new bespoke website that better represented the business, was easy to use and would allow them the flexibility to update activities, add blogs and manage bookings.
In a growing competitive landscape, Adventure South were keen to stand out from the crowd. The brief was for a fully optimised, professional and responsive website that would sell the activities on offer, be easy to navigate and provide simple activity booking. In 2021, the business were also expanding their paddleboard and kayak hire, so it was important for the website to also include an easy to use reservation system.
Working closely with Scott at Adventure South, we created a series of designs that better portrayed the brand and the activities on offer. Using our extensive keyword research, we recommend a site structure that would give Adventure South the best chance of ranking for a number of high-volume, relevant keywords to drive targeted traffic and increase bookings.
Once the design and structure of the website were agreed upon, we created fully optimised content and helped source and edit imagery that would best reflect the business. We also worked with the client to integrate Booking Hound, their preferred activity booking system and finally, created a content management system (CMS) that would allow Adventure South to take full control of the content of the website going forward.
In the spring of 2021, we launched Adventure South’s new website, just in time to start taking bookings for the summer. Following a seamless changeover from the old site, the business immediately started to activity and equipment hire bookings. Within a few weeks, organic search engine rankings were already improving, climbing to the top of Google’s first page for a number of high volume target keywords.
