"Upsite were recommended to us by another business and we are so pleased we followed up on the recommendation. John and Tim took the time from the very start to understand what our goals were for our website and our new ecommerce venture, and went above and beyond to help us realise them. They paid special attention to SEO which has been brilliant for our business, and they gave our website a complete make over.
They launched our new online shop, and went the extra mile to write unique copy for each item using their search engine research in order to help customers find us on Google. They also set aside time after the launch to train us in how to use Shopify and also how best to use social media to our advantage. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and will continue to use their services to improve the online side of our business."
Liz Stone, Owner, Stones Boatyard
Like many, Salcombe-based business Stones Boatyard felt the pressure of the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown and decided that it was as good a time as any to diversify into ecommerce.
Following a recommendation, Stones Boatyard contacted Upsite to discuss the viability of their plans to become a UK stockist to American outdoor manufacturer, YETI®. Before committing to this new venture, the client asked Upsite to conduct some preliminary keyword research into likely levels of demand for YETI’s unique range of products.
With the initial feedback positive, the client sought an innovative solution that would allow the addition of an ecommerce store to the website for their offline business. With the summer holidays just weeks away, the client was desperate to get their new business launched within a fortnight.
Once we were confident that demand was sufficient to support this new venture, we set about planning how to combine the clients existing boatyard and boat services website with an ecommerce store that would give both facets of the business the best chance of performing.
We settled on creating a new, optimised version of the clients existing website on ecommerce platform Shopify. With nearly 100 products to be added, we performed extensive keyword research before creating unique, targeted content for each collection and product page.
We optimised all existing content while creating new, focused landing pages for both the offline parts of the business and the new online store. We also worked to improve Stones Boatyard local SEO.
Within two weeks, we had created a great looking, responsive website that maintained the long-standing brand values of Stones Boatyard, whilst also incorporating a fully optimised ecommerce store.
After launch, we created PPC campaigns to bolster the presence of this new business during the peak summer season.
It’s early days for Stones Boatyard but the early results have already far exceeded client expectations. Thanks to careful planning, research and expertise, Upsite helped this client start generating sales almost immediately.
In less than four weeks after their initial contact, Stones Boatyard were already receiving orders online and well on their way to recouping their investment.
